Well this Week: 24, Flags, School, Campbell River

Hello to everyone, well this week was crazy busy for me. Easter came and went, and my exams were finished by friday last week, both my Political Science and Economics exams went really well and both my teachers said that I did really well but can't say till all the other exams are marked. So YEAH!!!!!

After my exams on Thursday and Friday I went to Campbell River to see Jenni, and the ferry system was so over loaded that I almost never got out to see Jenni. I got there at 4, for the 5 ferry in Horseshoe bay on Friday, and was told that I may catch the 9:00 ferry......WHAT?????? Needless to say, I was the 2nd to last car on the 7:00 ferry, which sucked, but was better than the 9:00 ferry. My visit was great, really good to see Jenni again, the long distance thing sucks, but in a week, Jenni will be here in Kamloops!!!!! We went to her Oma and Opa's 50 year anniversary on Saturday and it was great to meet all her family. Then Sunday I came home, but stopped at my parents for a great meal.

And yesterday I started my gauntlet called First Aid Level 3 or OFA3, and man it is intense, tons of information to remember and a ton of homework, 6-8 hours a night. But it is easier this time because I have a ticket, and I remember alot of it.

24: Wow again an amazing episode. ***SPOILERS*** Logan is getting tough, Henderson kills off Heller, Audrey is saved but is angery over her fathers death and tries to kill Henderson. Jack chases down the recording and leads him to a diplomatic flight and he sneaks on board. Hopefully the Chinese aren't on there!!! The CTU under Homeland is divided becasue the new head of CTU, Karen, is told of the plot to kill Palmer was Logans order, so she is now working with Cloe and Buchanan which are on the run. Wow, this show is great, great writing, and they really have handled each issue with amazing twists and resolve.

Politics: Ok my beef for this week, the Conservatives and their new flag rule....what are you thinking Harper? We are at war and you announce a new plan to NOT lower the flag when a soldier dies? Are you joking? That it will only be lowered on Rememberance day....For crying out loud what total lack of respect for these soldiers Harper has, especially since this week we lost 4 more soldiers and in Ottawa, the flags remained at full honour. But Alberta and the rest of Ontario have publically announced that they will uphold the old rules, while other provinces haven't weighed in on the issue yet. I just think that this country should at least spend the 5 minutes to lower the flag in rememberance when a soldier dies, but I guess the Conservatives, who have aggreed to stay the course in Afghanistan, feel that if this old rule is in place, then they would be lowering it each day. With the incredible speed and rate at which Canadians are being killed over there, it makes sense to not lower but why not just leave it lowered? Crazy Harper. When will he think before he acts?

And then today, Harper announces that MEDIA can NO LONGER cover the return of Canadian soldiers who have died????????WHAT THE &$*#. Is Harper worried that bad media coverage for his government will hurt him politically? YES But will this crazy decision hurt him even more? YES and him telling everyone that this is a decision to protect the privacy of the families. Well I guess he didn't talk to the families of the soldiers who have now publically dennounced this Harper media ban. Unreal, what a poor judgement call again by Harper, how many of these stupid an ill-thought out plans do we Canadians have to endure? Someone call an election already....please!!
