Harper Survives Budget Vote

Well yesterday, Harper and the Conservatives survived a major vote on their budget, with the help of the Bloc. Both the Liberals and NDP all voted against the budget, sighting concerns over, reduced health care funding, no structured child care, reduced education funding, reduced Aboriginal funding (from 800million this year, to 450million over 2 years) which was signed by all provinces under the Kelwona Accord, and of course, massive corporate cuts and no debt re-payment plans while getting rid of the Liberal buffer policy of 1 Billion in reserve in case of crisis or budget issues. All in all, the budget is a concern, with 28 billion in tax cuts, mainly for higher income and businesses, while cutting funding for progams already in a crisis mode.

May 9-This Week: Kamloops, Moving, School, Work, 24

Well hello to you all, sorry for being late with this post, but this past few weeks have been crazy busy for me. Since my last post, Jenni has moved up to Kamloops with the amazing help from Tracy and Warren. We all drove over to Campbell River on April 29, rented a Uhaul van, loaded it up and then drove to Tracy and Warren's place in Coquitlam. We all stayed there that night and then the next morning Jenni and I started out early and drove the Uhaul Van, while Tracy and Warren drove the kids 1 hour behind us. It was great that we did this because about 10 km from the Hope exit, Jenni and I got caught in a masive traffic jam. Highway 1 was closed, as well as highway 3 and 5 and all traffic was diverted through Hope. Asking a logging truck I found out that it was a gravel truck who ran over a motorcyclist and then a bunch of cars then ran into them right at the junction of Highway 3 and 5. So we called Tracy and Warren and told them to pull off in Chilliwack and take the boys to McDonalds or something until this traffic clears. Well 4 hours later, we finally got to Hope, ate and drove on the Canyon highway 1. Long story short, Jenni is now fully moved in to her place in Sahali and everything is great.

My TRU classes ended and I got my final grades of A, A-, A-, and A+. So I got a GPA of 3.94!! I was blown away and very happy about those grades.

As well, my First Aid class ended on a high note, with me finishing with a 100% on my practical and 94% on my written. I did so well on my practical, that the head of St. John's Ambulance, who was marking me on my practical, asked me if I was interested in becoming a teacher for them! I will definately look into it when I return in the Fall.

As for Mining, it is offical that the camp is starting up on May 24th, delayed due to large amounts of late spring snow fall. I will be in Vancouver starting on Sunday, and will be there working in the office-getting the camp ready for MOB-In on the 24th.

24: What can I say, the last 2 episodes were so good, I think the best ever. Don't really have much time here to write, but LSS, Jack got the help of CTU and Homeland, and they all worked to get the recording to the AG before Logan got his hands on it. And they did, but when getting a copy of the recording made, the President had a friend in CTU and he did something to the recording, but we don't know what....LOL oh man, the next episode will be huge.

Well I gotta run, see you all later.
