The great North is getting Cold!

Well again, I'm alive and well. Don't worry all you regular readers...lol. So what happened the last few months. Well where to start. I was the camp manager for an exploration mining camp consisting of 3 drills, 40 guys. That was crazy. Bears, snow, helicopters...oh my! The photo here is me and Chuck, who I have worked with for 3 years now on various projects. The camp I was managing is way in the background in the valley, this was taken below John Peak's.

Then the Camp closed down on October 11, and we got into Terrace around 9pm, after a nice 5 hour drive. De-mobing or closing a camp is very stressful for the Camp Manager, especially when we had 4 helicopters in camp with 2 drills de-mobin, guys going, supplies everywhere. Man it was crazy, but I made it...maybe with a few more grey hairs though.

So being crazy, I signed on for another mining exploration camp, as a cook and first aider, and it started October 12 8am, yes 11 hours after my DE-MOB!!! Argh .....man that rough. So we moved into to this other camp, a 1 drill, 8 guys and a women geologist (in her 60's so don't worry Jenni) It is a sub-alpine camp, very high up, 3500ft, and very close to Terrace. In fact we can almost see Terrace from here.

It is snowing at night, and the winds up here gust up to 100km/h. It's very rough weather up here...being so high up. I love it up here (except for the whole no life and no family, no jenni) experiencing raw nature and getting paid to do it.

Well I think that is all for the update right now. I will try to do this more frequently.

Cheers!
