Marathon Game 1, Canucks win!

Wow what a first game. Before this series started, most sports reporters and "critics" all agreed that the Canucks and Stars were very evenly matched. And that there would be low scoring and rather "boring" games to follow. Well last night, they were proved right and very wrong, with both teams in a dead heat-4th OT final. Both teams seemed very even, very tight, and even with the net-minders playing their best ever, it was a high scoring game. The Canucks did fall apart or rather become lazy with their 4-2 lead in the 3rd, but that aside, the game was fantastic. Luongo was brilliant in goal, especially during the 4 over-time periods.

Notes of worry though, Dallas had 76 shots, Canucks had 56. The Nucks need to close this gap. And the injury to Cooke and Burrows isn't great news, with only 10 seasoned forwards now in the line up. I hope their injuries are only minor...Plus Sopel was out with back spasms, but the Fitz did fill in and did play better than he has in the past. It was nice to see Kesler back after his surgery in January.
